On the 15th, news broke that “Blackie” Chen Jian-zhou had suffered an acute myocardial infarction. Fortunately, his condition stabilized after emergency surgery, and his life was saved. Upon hearing the news, his wife, Christine Fan (Fanfan), immediately rushed to National Taiwan University Hospital to care for him. Their close friend Dee Hsu (Xiao S) admitted she was stunned when Fanfan first informed her, but was relieved that Blackie ultimately came through safely.
Recalling the moment, Dee Hsu said, “When I received the text message from Fanfan, I was absolutely shocked. A heart attack is a condition that can strike suddenly and claim a person’s life, so I am incredibly grateful to God for not taking Blackie away. I’ve kept urging him to pay close attention to his health—I’m begging him, really—because I simply couldn’t bear to lose another good friend.” She also sent a message to Blackie, urging him to take good care of his health: “He is a father with two children and a wife; his family needs him, and his friends need him too.”
