Iranian President Pezeshkian stated at a meeting in Tehran that the new round of U.S. economic sanctions would yield no results.
Pezeshkian remarked that, given the measures already taken by the Iranian government, the economic pressure currently being exerted by the U.S. would prove fruitless—just as its efforts in the conflict had failed to achieve any results.
With negotiations with Iran at a standstill, U.S. President Trump announced on the 19th that “devastating economic actions” would be taken against Iran. On the 24th, U.S. Treasury Secretary Bessent held a press conference to announce the launch of a new round of sanctions aimed at the “economic isolation” of Iran.
